“God” Is Tweeting Now

Have you ever seen those billboards that are little notes from “god?” Below is an example, and here is a link to several.

Big Bang Theory. You’ve got to be kidding Me. –God

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of this kind of thing. That’s why when I got an email informing me that @almightygod was following me on twitter, I got a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Not because “god” is following me, but because someone had the nerve to create a twitter account with God’s name, and regularly tweets. Of course, every time he or she updates, they are claiming that their words are the words of God.

Maybe I’m a bit old school, but that irks me a bit. Am I overreacting?

Totally agree with you on this. It ranks up there with Jesus and I being friends on face book… oh and LAME church signs.

Here are two I see every day…

“It’s still colder than hell outside.”
“I meant all that stuff about love. – God”

I wish God would tweet. I think I could convince people to have devotions that involved 140 characters or less.

Right there with you, I think our culture and even the mainstream Christian culture have lost their reverence for God. Though the Bible makes it plain that God desires a relationship with us, I don’t think He had in mind “Jesus is my homeboy” T-shirts. Most of the quotes by God on billboards and such are kind of silly, some have a good point, and when they originally came out it was a catchy way of sharing truths of God’s Word, but like most things it has gone way overboard. I also don’t think you would catch Isaiah after chapter 6 tweeting from almightygod.
